About Our Kitties

This is all about our "Cat Children". *S* We have 4 inside kitties and 29 and growing, lol, outside kitties. This is the story of how all this came about. lol!
Tim and I got married in 1992. He was a dog lover and I was and have always been, a cat lover. I brought home this tiny white kitten and Tim just fell in love! *S* That kitty is Baby, aka Judy's Baby. 2 years later, some friends of ours had to get rid of their cat since she was allergic to them. So, we took it and his name is Tom. I'm a huge WWE fan, we're both Atlanta Braves fans and I'm a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. You'll understand all this a little further down. lol! Next came Austin, named after Stone Cold Steve Austin of WWE. He was 6 wks old and my niece rescued him from neighbors that stayed stoned, brought the kitty to me and it smelt like marijuana. I bathed it daily and held it day and night since he went through withdrawals much like a human would. He shook, cried and wanted to be held. It took 4 weeks for him to get back to normal. Today, he's 9 yrs old, a huge part persian, part himilayan, and still thinks he should be held. He's bigger than my arms can hold him! lol! Then came T-Tiny and Red, brother and sister, 7 yrs. old. Now we have a beautiful Manx named No-Tail (name taken for her literally tailess self *G*. She's had 3 litters and is now at Rainbow Bridge along with her last litter :( Long story short, one of our neighbors hits every cat with his car over him thinking Tim shot his dogs...Tim did not shoot them but the dude thinks he did so that's his horrible payback! *Hope you're reading this you lowdown jerk!* We now have Precious, Shuga, Yipper and Gipper..all Manx and soooo loveable! We still have Austin, T-Tiny, Gipper and Red...our housecats *S* The whole town here knows who to call when they have kittens to get rid of! *S*
We've had 20 that have gone to Rainbow Bridge, Lacy, being a full blooded persian that was kept in a small cage with no water or food and a friend took her and brought her to me. She was beautiful but only lived 3 years and was 18 months when we got her. Not sure what happened to her since they all have their shots every year. I'll always believe it was from being kept in that small cage in 90 plus degree weather with no water or food.
4 years ago, when we took them all to have their shots & checkups, we found out that Tom has sinus cancer and there's nothing that can be done other than to treat the symptoms. And just 3 years ago, T-Tiny got out the door without me seeing her and finally showed up 3 months later! Have her back in the house and she won't go near the doors anymore. Poor baby spent 3 months outside and was in the shed the whole time where I'd looked every single day for her.
Tim and his brother were outside working when he heard her meowing and called her, she ran to him and jumped in his arms. He brought her to the back door and said "Look who I found!" I took her and spanked her and then just held her all day long crying cause she's my baby. :-)
The 30 plus cats/kittens outside definitely keep us supplied with kittens! rofl! This is where the WWE, Braves and Cowboys come in. *S* We had one named Troy, after Troy Aikman, one named Jones after Chipper and Andrew Jones of Atlanta Braves, Rock and Sock after the "Rock & Sock" connection on WWE, Hardcore and Crash after the Holly's, Chyna, Kane, Big Red (after the Big Red Machine) all from WWE, Fluffy named that from being so fluffy and is a minature kitty, Muffin, Tiger, Shuga, Mac, Missy, Coon-Coon, Sassy, Ginger, TK after Toby Keith and the list goes on. *S*
(Troy, Jones, Rock, Sock, Missy, Moe,Hardcore, Crash, Chyna, Kane, Big Red, Fluffy, Muffin, Ginger, Coon-Coon, Lacy, Baby, Tom, Junior and TK have all gone to Rainbow Bridge)
Each cat and kitten we have/had, have/had their own unique personalities and after about 2 days, we know what personality he/she's going to have, then name them.
No-Tail had 5-6 kittens per litter and usually one didn't make it. We've given friends Manx kittens and they just adore being owned by them *S* It's so hard giving them away getting attached to them so easily but knowing they're in good homes and they keep Tim updated on 'em, that really helps. *S*
Update May 2009: Our first kitty, Baby had to be put to sleep. She was old and had gingivitus, we had to give her meds everyday and our Vet did surgery to cauterize her gums. Told us to feed her canned food and all went well for a while, but as I was putting the meds on her gums, blood started pouring from her mouth. Tim put her down instead of taking her to the vet when we didn't have the money at the time to have her put to sleep. We are down to 4 inside cats. Fluffy was killed by 2 Rottweilers. She was such a beautiful kitten, was only 9 months old and very tiny. :-) Those Rottweilers have killed 10 of our outside kitties...one named Moe I tried stopping the dogs but they came after me! I thought Moe had gotten away but Tim found her underneath my car when he came home, she was still warm and had I known she didn't get away from those dang dogs, I'd have gotten her to the Vet immediately!
There is a law that dogs have to be in pens but this guy thought he was above the law and paid the price for it by losing the 2 rottweilers.
We have 2 new litters outside and 3 more on the way. *S*
We had Junior, one of No-Tails first and the runt of the litter, fixed and declawed when he got 9 months old..I brought him home, carried him to the bed and he lay down and rested. Within 2 days he was running and playing with the other kitties but a week later, I found him in the bedroom floor dead.
Tim cried when he came home and I showed him, he picked him up and took him out to our little pet cemetary and buried him..crying the whole time. Tim is so soft-hearted when it comes to animals. The Vet told us Junior either had a stroke, a heart attack or may have been born with some type heart defect that the stuff they put animals to sleep with before surgery, coulda caused a heart attack. He said he'd love to know but knew we couldn't pay $500 for an autopsy but in his years of being a Vet, heart attack was his diagnosis. We still miss Junior every day but know he's at Rainbow Bridge running and playing with all our other kitties. *S*.
We also had to put Tom down..the cancer had progressed, he was suffering and we couldn't bear seeing him suffer anymore.

We also have a family of Raccoons that eat with the outside kitties. They're sooo cute, fun to watch eat and never hurt any of the kitties*S*
This site is dedicated to all pets, be it cats, dogs, birds, fish....any animal that God has blessed us with as a best friend.
