Stone Cold's neck was broken in a match against Owen Hart. Nothing on purpose, accidents do happen. He came back from that injury and enjoyed a tremendous career as the best known, most popular and biggest crowd-drawer in the history of WWE. He eventually had to have neck surgery to fuse some vertabrae together. This caused him to be out of action for almost a year. He worked out, got ready and made a great comeback! Only thing missing - where was our ragin' redneck that loved to raise hell, kick Vince's butt and shoot those one-finger salutes!! I only know what's been told by WWE and by Stone Cold and he walked out on a career, along with personal problems with divorce. **Single man, girls** *L* Don't go there!! :-) After being gone for about 8 months, rumors started circulating that "The Rattlesnake" was talking with Vince and JR about possibly coming back! Wellllll, ole JuJu was doing the "crash of the glass" dance! Then all of a sudden, there he is!! Ohhhhhh Happy Days are here again!! He sacrificed his body, could have been paralyzed, and still can, all for the sake of his fans. Now that, my friends, is dedication!! Love you Steve!!!

Besides being one of the most popular, dangerous and rebellious Superstars in the history of the WWE, Stone Cold Steve Austin is also a 6 time WWE Champion, the only 3-time Royal Rumble Match Winner and a King of the Ring Winner, among many other distinctions. He has also won the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania on 3 seperate occasions.
Stone Cold's claims to fame are many, but he is perhaps best remembered for his battles with WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon that began in 1998. The rivalry led to Stone Cold occupying many unique roles outside the ring, including a stint as WWE CEO. In fact, it was Mr. McMahon who spoke out against Stone Colds return during a meeting with the WWE Board of Directors to decide the "Rattlesnakes" reinstatement - yet another battle against Mr McMahon that Stone Cold won.
While a neck injury may have forced Stone Cold to stop competing in the ring after Wrestlemania XIX, he continues to be a star. And since he recently signed a three-picture deal under the WWE Films banner, he will soon be thrust back into the inernational spotlight. But whether it's Hollywood or in the WWE ring, Stone Cold will always be a trash-talking, beer swilling, finger-gesturing, a##-kicking SOB....and he, and the millions of WWE fans around the world would not have it any other way!!
